Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a driven Senior Backend Engineer for a full-time remote position, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend services and APIs to support Tala's expanding product features and user base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data integration layers
• Review design documents and perform code reviews while providing input on implementation choices
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development and production environments

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Java, Kotlin, and/or Scala, including exposure to a web framework like Spring
• Experience launching large-scale consumer applications on cloud infrastructure using microservices architecture
• Expert knowledge in REST API design and development
• Strong understanding of architecture and system design
• Proficiency in Agile development processes
