Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on enhancing the customer journey, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will architect and optimize backend services and APIs for a global e-commerce platform, ensuring security and performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize backend services and APIs for e-commerce and digital experiences
• Create scalable data models to support product evolution and a growing audience
• Own the security, reliability, and performance of the backend stack, ensuring a seamless user experience

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, or equivalent server-side languages, along with some experience in JavaScript or other client-side languages
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and SQL
• Hands-on experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with caching, queuing, and search tools such as Redis, RabbitMQ, or Elasticsearch
