Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the delivery of significant backend platform components, the full-time Senior Backend Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate production systems for a next-generation AI platform in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of backend platform components, ensuring alignment with architectural direction
• Make technical decisions on data modeling, API design, and operational concerns while collaborating with Staff Engineers and tech leads
• Drive improvements in system reliability and performance, responding to production issues and mentoring junior engineers

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend platforms and data infrastructure
• Proven track record of delivering significant backend features in production
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as FastAPI and Celery
• Deep experience with Postgres, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience with modern cloud-based architectures, particularly AWS
