Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer focused on high-throughput platform development, the full-time remote position will design, build, and operate foundational platforms and shared services essential for delivering products while ensuring high performance and minimal operational toil.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build internal platform services and shared infrastructure with a focus on developer experience
• Architect high-throughput backend platforms capable of sustaining high request volumes with predictable latency
• Lead incident response for platform issues and drive engineering improvements to prevent recurrence

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Six or more years of professional backend or platform engineering experience
• Strong expertise in designing distributed systems with attention to consistency and availability
• Advanced proficiency in at least one major backend language such as Java, Go, or Rust
• Experience with high-throughput messaging and event-driven architectures using technologies like Kafka or Pulsar
