Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To establish and lead the performance engineering practice, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will architect and execute performance strategies for the Truelark platform, design a self-service performance testing platform, and champion performance best practices, all while working remotely in the US.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute performance strategy for Truelark scaling, defining KPIs and conducting load tests to ensure system reliability
• Design and build a scalable, automated performance testing framework integrated into CI/CD pipelines for developer ease
• Champion and codify performance best practices, addressing knowledge gaps and fostering a culture of shared performance responsibility

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in performance engineering, software engineering in test, SRE, DevOps, or similar roles focused on large-scale distributed systems
• Strong programming proficiency in Go and/or Python, with hands-on experience in building and maintaining complex applications
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including deploying and managing containerized applications
• Proven ability to design and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated performance testing
• Expert-level understanding of performance testing methodologies and experience with microservice architectures
