Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Devices Cloud team, this full-time remote position will design and deliver core cloud systems for Life360's connected hardware, managing features and subsystems while utilizing AI-native engineering practices to enhance development workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable and reliable Devices Cloud services for device connectivity and telemetry ingest
• Own complete features and subsystems, participating in technical design and leading medium-sized projects from inception to production
• Apply AI-native engineering practices, using AI tools for coding, testing, and incident response while mentoring junior engineers

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend or cloud infrastructure systems, preferably with IoT or telematics
• Strong experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS) and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants for engineering tasks
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team standards
• Bachelor's Degree in a Technical field or equivalent experience
