Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the clean energy transition, the full-time Staff Backend Engineer will lead feature initiatives, partner with data science teams, and design robust backend services for an auto-bidding platform, working remotely or in the SF Bay Area.

Key responsibilities

• Lead feature initiatives end-to-end, collaborating with frontend teams to develop, test, and release new backend features
• Partner with data science and optimization teams to operationalize machine learning models into production systems
• Design, build, and maintain backend services that facilitate real-time battery dispatch and energy market operations

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with data processing libraries and production deployments
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
