Job Summary

Experienced Rust engineers will find a full-time remote opportunity as a Senior Backend Engineer, focusing on building and optimizing Nitro, the core technology powering Arbitrum, while tackling complex technical challenges in a distributed systems environment.

Key responsibilities

• Building and improving Nitro, the core node software that powers Arbitrum
• Designing and optimizing systems for transaction execution, state management, and network performance
• Enhancing reliability, observability, and security across critical infrastructure

Required qualifications

• Proven experience as a Rust engineer with a track record of building production systems
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and performance-critical applications
• Ability to take ownership of projects from design through implementation and operation
• Interest in runtimes, execution environments, WASM, and systems programming
• Security-focused mindset with attention to potential threats and vulnerabilities
