Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Backend Engineer to architect and evolve core systems for a modern financial infrastructure, focusing on payment engines, platform APIs, and backend infrastructure, with a preference for candidates to work onsite 2-3 days a week in Austin, TX or New York, NY, while also considering exceptional fully remote candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain critical infrastructure including payments, storage, networking, and security systems
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling while improving system resiliency and availability
• Lead platform initiatives and optimize performance, reliability, and correctness across backend systems

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent formal education
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years at a senior level, with strong backend and product engineering background
• Production experience with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript is required
• Advanced working knowledge of Postgres and Redis
• Strong AWS/cloud infrastructure experience including deployments and CI/CD within production environments
