Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support a mission-driven team, the full-time remote Senior Backend Engineer will architect and implement scalable software solutions, manage backend systems for financial transactions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable, performant, and secure software solutions for backend systems
• Design and enhance large-scale backend distributed platforms while ensuring compliance with payment processing regulations
• Debug production issues and proactively eliminate potential outages to ensure seamless user experiences

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend feature development
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and algorithms
• Experience with RESTful API design and development
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in an agile environment
