Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Owning backend systems and infrastructure end-to-end, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will design, build, and scale APIs and services for a fintech startup, working remotely while leveraging AI-assisted development to enhance productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Own backend systems from design through deployment and scaling
• Build reliable APIs and services that power core financial products
• Establish technical patterns and best practices for the engineering team

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a backend focus
• Experience building and scaling production systems with Node and AWS
• Proficiency with TypeScript strongly preferred
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for system outcomes
