Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the ingestion and data quality of the Provider Directory, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will design and build scalable data pipelines, implement AI-powered tooling for data integrity, and ensure reliable operations of existing systems in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data ingestion pipelines for onboarding provider data sources and transforming them into standardized FHIR resources
• Own data quality by defining validation rules, building automated monitoring, and resolving issues before they affect users
• Develop AI-powered data tooling for entity resolution and quality scoring, enhancing the accuracy of provider records

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building and operating data-intensive systems at scale
• Proficiency in Python, with experience in Spark or Databricks for distributed data processing
• Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and validation strategies across relational and document databases
• Familiarity with AWS services, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices
• Experience or willingness to learn about healthcare data standards, particularly FHIR
