Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of an intuitive application for customer interaction with physical equipment, the fully remote Senior Backend Engineer will design and build backend services and APIs using Node/TypeScript, manage data pipelines, and oversee projects from scoping to launch while mentoring team members.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build backend services and APIs in Node/TypeScript, Supabase, and Deno
• Manage integrations with third-party services and connected devices while handling PostgreSQL and telemetry data
• Own projects from scoping to launch, defining milestones and ensuring reliable delivery

Required qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience building and operating backend services in production
• Strong skills in Node/TypeScript and data modeling with PostgreSQL
• Experience designing and running microservices on AWS
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD processes and observability tooling
• Familiarity with AI coding agents as part of the development workflow
