Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Focusing on building and scaling backend systems for a high-scale e-commerce marketplace, the contract Senior Backend Engineer will drive API development, distributed system design, and data pipeline execution in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems and APIs, including REST and gRPC
• Lead architecture discussions and guide the backend technical direction
• Develop and maintain Airflow data pipelines using Python for both batch and real-time processing

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience
• 3+ years of hands-on, production-level Golang experience
• Strong experience designing scalable distributed systems on GCP or a similar cloud platform
• Experience building and designing clean, maintainable APIs (REST and/or gRPC)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and service deployment
