Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Lodging and Cars Supply team, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will manage end-to-end technical integrations with external partners, write performant code in Scala, and optimize system monitoring in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute technical integrations with external lodging, cars, and GDS partners while navigating complex communication protocols
• Write and maintain clean, performant code to uphold engineering standards for mission-critical lodging services
• Take ownership of the development lifecycle for new product features, from implementation to production deployment

Required qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Scala or other JVM languages, such as Java or Kotlin
• Proven experience with microservices architecture and the technical implementation of features
• Practical knowledge of distributed systems and service communication methods including gRPC, Pub/Sub, and REST
• Ability to independently explore and execute technical plans within existing infrastructure
• Professional curiosity for the travel tech industry with a focus on reliable booking fulfillment
