Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Joining the Lodging and Cars Supply team, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will execute technical integrations with external partners, write performant code in Scala or JVM languages, and optimize system monitoring in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end technical integrations with external lodging, car, and GDS partners
• Write clean, performant code to maintain and evolve mission-critical lodging services
• Explore and troubleshoot existing codebases to resolve production issues in a distributed system

Required qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Scala or other JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin
• Proven experience with microservices architecture and technical implementation of features
• Practical knowledge of distributed systems and service communication methods including gRPC, Pub/Sub, and REST
• Ability to onboard quickly and handle technical ambiguity independently
• Professional curiosity for the travel tech industry with a focus on reliable booking fulfillment
