Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Lodging and Cars Supply team, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will navigate a complex microservices environment to deliver reliable booking fulfillment, integrate new partners, and optimize system monitoring while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end technical integrations with external lodging and car partners, managing complex communication protocols
• Write clean, performant code in Scala or other JVM languages, maintaining rigorous engineering standards for lodging services
• Explore and troubleshoot existing codebases to resolve production issues and ensure a seamless booking experience under high load

Required qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Scala or other JVM languages, with experience in building scalable, high-throughput services
• Proven track record of owning technical implementation, testing, and deployment within a microservices architecture
• Practical experience with distributed systems and service communication methods including gRPC, Pub/Sub, and REST
• Ability to onboard quickly and handle technical ambiguity by independently exploring existing infrastructure
• Professional curiosity for the travel tech industry and a commercial mindset focused on reliable booking fulfillment
