Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Motivated by user and business challenges, the full-time remote Senior Backend Engineer will architect, develop, and operate Java services for real-time ad auction and ranking decisions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver complex technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain Java services that power real-time ad auction and ranking decisions
• Design auction mechanics, including bid shading and floor price enforcement
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and data scientists to solve challenging problems

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with proficiency in Java and ideally Scala
• Experience in building low-latency, high-throughput systems, particularly in ad serving or auction systems
• Proven ability to write and maintain distributed, high-volume services in production
• Strong understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms
• Passion for quality code and a data-driven approach to decision-making
