Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting an industry leader in financial services, the remote Senior Backend Engineer will deliver high-quality software solutions in an agile environment while focusing on application maintenance and information security controls over a 6-month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, innovative, and maintainable software solutions in an agile environment
• Perform application maintenance and ensure information security controls are in place
• Collaborate with Product, Execution, and support teams to resolve user inquiries and provide timely updates

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience developing enterprise solutions across multiple technology platforms and programming languages
• Expertise in batch job development and backend development in Java/Python, using an API-first approach
• Strong experience with Java, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and modern web application technologies
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including deployment and architecture best practices
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
