Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the architectural design and technical strategy for high-performance data processing systems, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will work remotely to optimize ML-driven data pipelines and design cloud-native microservices while mentoring other engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and roadmap for scalable data processing pipelines handling petabyte-scale telemetry data
• Drive development of ML-driven data routing engines to significantly reduce customer data volumes while implementing real-time analytics systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate strategic vision into technical solutions and establish engineering best practices

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems, data engineering, or ML infrastructure with proficiency in Go, Rust, or Java
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Deep expertise in database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and advanced experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Expert knowledge of observability tools and standards, including Prometheus and Grafana, alongside experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring engineers and driving technical strategy across teams
