Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will implement new architectures and features for the Booking Engine squad, focusing on scaling the platform and enhancing the customer experience through modern SaaS and AWS technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement features and improvements in PHP, including APIs and integrations for the booking flow
• Own the performance, scalability, and reliability of services, contributing to the migration to microservices and event-driven architectures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, build, and ship high-quality features while mentoring team members through code reviews and pair programming

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of PHP web application software engineering experience
• Expert knowledge of relational databases and experience with API-driven design and development
• Strong knowledge of software best practices, design patterns, and testing, including test automation
• Business-level English fluency, both verbal and written
• Experience identifying and improving application performance
