Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing engineering team, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will focus on AI-native development, writing specifications, orchestrating agents, and reviewing feature outcomes, all while working remotely from Minnesota.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features and enhancements across multiple platforms
• Author specifications and manage the SDLC from planning to production release, ensuring quality and efficiency
• Review AI-generated code for accuracy and effectiveness, providing insights on failure modes and improvements

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of production software engineering experience with a strong background in a statically typed backend language (Java preferred)
• Proven experience in spec-driven development and hands-on use of AI coding agents
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, ORM technologies, and API design
• Experience delivering software in a cross-functional team with continuous production releases
• Ability to articulate failure modes in AI-generated code and make informed decisions on code acceptance
