Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer in a full-time remote role, the candidate will design and implement scalable backend services for financial workflows, manage features from API to UI, and leverage AI tools to enhance software development processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build backend services supporting financial workflows and transaction processing using Java and modern JVM frameworks
• Own features end to end, including data models, services, APIs, and the Angular frontend
• Contribute to architectural discussions and improve system reliability, performance, and observability across the stack

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer in a production environment
• Deep experience building backend services using Java and modern JVM frameworks
• Experience designing APIs and service-oriented systems
• Proficiency with a modern reactive frontend framework (Angular preferred) and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants as part of the regular workflow
