Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To drive innovation in healthcare technology, the remote Senior Backend Engineer will set technical direction for backend development, design scalable web application systems, and mentor team members while collaborating cross-functionally to influence product direction.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and implement complex applications that leverage machine learning techniques to enhance user experience and streamline processes
- Contribute to new product development and maintain a balance between customer-facing features and technical debt cleanup
- Serve as a developer coach, setting standards and elevating the programming maturity of the team
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of backend programming experience, with full-stack experience highly desired
- Proven experience in designing and shipping customer-facing web application products using Java or Scala; Rust is a plus
- Experience with distributed systems operating on cloud services at scale, ensuring high throughput and availability
- Ability to write clear Technical Design Documents that translate product intent into backend design
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
