Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a pet-friendly and experienced Senior Backend Engineer, the full-time remote position will architect, develop, and deploy a data processing and analytics platform for next-generation pet health and GPS trackers while collaborating with the engineering team to enhance app functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deploy the data processing and analytics platform for mobile and web applications
• Collaborate with the engineering team to extend new functionality to applications
• Identify and implement solutions for performance bottlenecks in the backend infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of recent experience in Node.js or Ruby on Rails
• Proven ability to build and deploy robust, scalable backends
• Experience in API design and implementation
• Proficient in MySQL or PostgreSQL hand coding and performance optimization
• Familiarity with AWS services, including EC2, RDS, VPC, SQS, and ELB
