Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the authentication surface end-to-end, the remote Senior Backend Engineer will manage systems including single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, and multi-factor authentication while ensuring security and availability for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own authentication systems including single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, and multi-factor authentication
• Build enterprise identity capabilities for large customers, including identity-provider integrations and MFA enforcement
• Ensure system operability through monitoring, alerting, and sustainable on-call practices

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software-engineering experience with complex backend applications
• Experience in building or operating production authentication and identity systems
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Rust, Python, etc.) and familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent)
• Strong production ownership experience, including on-call responsibilities
• A track record of maintaining systems where correctness and availability are critical
