Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Owning critical-path systems for feature-flag configuration, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will design, build, and operate distributed systems while ensuring reliability, low-latency, and scalability in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate distributed systems for feature-flag configuration delivery
• Improve the reliability, latency, and scalability of streaming and polling infrastructure
• Debug complex production issues and participate in the team's on-call rotation

Required qualifications:

• 6+ years of professional backend engineering experience with distributed or high-throughput systems
• Proficient in at least one backend language (Go, Rust, Python) and comfortable with AWS or equivalent cloud platforms
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent) and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic)
• Strong production ownership experience, including on-call responsibilities
• Deep understanding of distributed-systems fundamentals such as concurrency and failure handling
