Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To take ownership of core systems such as Gatekeeper and Data Streaming, the full-time remote Senior Backend Engineer will design and optimize performance-sensitive products while collaborating with engineering leadership and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and release novel products that enhance the developer experience on Solana
• Optimize production systems by profiling, benchmarking, and improving latency and throughput
• Collaborate on architectural and product decisions while improving operational excellence

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping production systems at scale
• Proficiency in Rust (strongly preferred), C++, or Go
• Experience debugging and optimizing latency-sensitive or high-throughput systems
• Strong systems-level intuition and ability to own problems end-to-end with minimal direction
• Prior exposure to engineering cultures prioritizing operational excellence and reliability
