Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Driving the technical direction for gameplay-critical features, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will own core service architecture and scalability while working remotely to ensure reliability and performance for Last Epoch.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the architecture of core backend systems, including gameplay services and player progression
- Design and implement scalable APIs and event-driven pipelines for high availability on Azure
- Establish engineering standards for C# backend development and drive reliability practices
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience building and supporting online services with SLA requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience in high-performance C#
- Production experience on Azure, particularly with AKS and CosmosDB
- Demonstrated experience in building distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Strong skills in API design, performance tuning, and operational excellence
