Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the rearchitecture of Close's core CRM data model, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will work remotely, focusing on designing and implementing systems for leads, contacts, and opportunities while shipping AI-native features to enhance user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Rearchitect the core CRM data model to improve relationships between leads, contacts, and custom objects
• Develop tools and endpoints that enhance data usability for agents and ensure efficient search capabilities
• Ship AI-powered CRM features, including data cleaning and enriched search functionalities

Required qualifications

• Proven experience with Python and familiarity with other programming languages such as Go, Rust, or TypeScript
• Strong architectural skills with a history of designing and migrating complex systems
• Expertise in data modeling, retrieval, and search technologies, particularly with Elasticsearch
• Experience shipping AI-driven features in production environments
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to shifting project needs
