Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development of consumer-facing mobile products, the remote Senior Backend Engineer will architect and scale backend systems, optimize infrastructure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Architect backend systems for user workflows, notifications, and automation features
- Design and implement APIs and microservices focused on performance and scalability
- Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver features through rapid development cycles
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role
- Expert-level proficiency in Ruby on Rails and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
- Strong expertise with Sidekiq for background job processing and Redis for caching
- Experience designing and scaling distributed systems in production environments
- Familiarity with AWS services, including S3, DynamoDB, and CloudWatch
