Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support Bestow's growing partner ecosystem, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer II will design, build, and operate backend services using Python, Go, and Java, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to technical design decisions for IPC services, ensuring a balance between delivery speed and long-term maintainability
- Partner with other engineering teams for integration work across the platform and support production reliability by maintaining and improving SLOs
- Mentor engineers through code and design reviews, while promoting the adoption of AI-assisted development practices
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of professional backend software development experience at a Senior level
- Strong proficiency in Go and Python, with additional experience in Java preferred
- Solid experience with distributed systems, microservices, and API design
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Kubernetes, Docker, and GCP
- Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools in a daily workflow
