Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To shape the architecture and delivery of scalable backend services, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will own the technical roadmap, drive architectural decisions, and establish engineering standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the technical roadmap for backend services supporting reporting, data access, and processing capabilities
- Drive and document architectural decisions across interdependent services and data sources
- Establish and enforce engineering standards for code quality, testing, and security
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring or another modern backend language
- Proven ownership of architecture across multiple services, including REST API design
- Strong relational database expertise covering schema design and query performance
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform, and CI/CD pipelines
