Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Go expertise to work remotely in a full-time capacity, responsible for taking ownership of a newly acquired VPN product, stabilizing its backend, and evolving it into a consumer-facing solution with extensive global reach.

Key responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of the existing VPN backend, focusing on stabilization and enhancement of the Go networking engine
• Design and implement APIs for account management, subscription, and server selection while ensuring security and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish automated testing, documentation, and CI/CD processes

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, primarily using Go, in an agile environment
• Proficient in networking fundamentals and familiar with VPN technologies such as WireGuard and Shadowsocks
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis, as well as AWS services and Docker
• Strong understanding of REST API design and security practices, including JWT/OAuth authentication
• Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools in daily workflows
