Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the growth of Grader, the full-time Senior Backend Software Engineer will own backend services and data pipelines, ensuring fast and reliable performance while collaborating closely with product and AI teams in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the backend services and data pipelines that power Grader scans from data ingestion to serving results
• Enhance platform reliability by reducing latency, increasing uptime, and building necessary observability and alerting layers
• Establish foundational architectural patterns and operational runbooks to facilitate efficient engineering practices

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience owning backend services in production environments
• Proficient in building and operating data pipelines and third-party integrations at scale
• Demonstrated track record of improving system reliability and operational health
• Experience in a product-focused startup or scale-up environment
• Strong collaborative skills with a history of effective teamwork across functions
