Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

Focusing on building scalable backend services and leading technical initiatives, the full-time Senior Backend Software Engineer will design architecture, manage development projects, and enhance system performance in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities
• Lead development of high-impact technical initiatives across application, data, and infrastructure layers
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on complex engineering initiatives

Required qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend systems
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production backend services and APIs
• Deep experience with SQL, relational databases, and data-intensive applications
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern deployment workflows
