Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance Affirm's data infrastructure, the full-time remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will build and operate core platform capabilities, develop integrations, and strengthen data access and governance for scalable data applications.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate core platform capabilities, enabling engineers to deploy and manage data applications at scale
• Develop and maintain integrations with internal systems, ensuring secure and reliable access for application teams
• Design and implement secure data access patterns and governance across the platform's analytical infrastructure

Required qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a cloud analytical data platform (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
• Experience with containerized applications and CI/CD pipeline design
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for building reliable platform services
• Strong operational instincts with a focus on incident management and system instrumentation
• A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
