Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing engineering team, the full-time Senior Backend Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services primarily using Node.js and PostgreSQL, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs, ensuring high-quality system improvements
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Investigate and resolve production issues and customer-reported bugs, focusing on root-cause analysis

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development experience, particularly with distributed systems and microservices
• Proven expertise in Node.js (Typescript) and PostgreSQL
• Experience with GraphQL, TypeORM, and Nest.js
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and message brokers (RabbitMQ)
• Experience in the retail and/or fuel & convenience industries is a plus
