Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the mission of enhancing the rent payment experience, the remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will implement backend systems for various business features, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and scale services that power products like Payment and Billing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems that support business features and integrations
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to address user challenges and roll out changes in an agile manner
• Lead the scoping, design, and implementation of APIs, ensuring successful production rollouts with minimal oversight

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering
• At least 4 years of experience with Java and proficiency in related frameworks and tools
• Experience building robust, fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies
• Ability to work effectively in a globally-distributed team environment
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines
