Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support high-performance backend services, the remote contracted Senior Backend Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable systems using Java, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java
• Integrate backend applications with machine learning models and develop event-driven components for high-volume production systems
• Monitor and optimize system performance, implementing resilience patterns and automated testing practices

Required qualifications

• Strong professional experience developing production applications with Java
• Experience designing backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
• Understanding of Java design patterns and software architecture
• Experience with automated testing and continuous integration practices
• Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting platforms such as Datadog or Grafana
