Senior Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support backend and microservice development, the full-time remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will design and maintain REST APIs and distributed systems using Java and Node.js, collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and Node.js
- Build and support containerized microservices deployed on AWS, including Kubernetes/EKS environments
- Troubleshoot complex backend and distributed-system issues, performing root-cause analysis and driving fixes through to resolution
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Framework/Spring Boot
- Proficiency in designing REST APIs and backend microservices
- Experience with AWS and containerized applications, particularly Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
- Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
