Senior Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support backend and microservice development in a cloud-native environment, the full-time remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will design and maintain REST APIs using Java and Node.js while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and Node.js
- Build and support containerized microservices deployed on AWS, including Kubernetes/EKS environments
- Troubleshoot complex backend and distributed-system issues, performing root-cause analysis and driving fixes through to resolution
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Framework/Spring Boot
- Proficient in designing REST APIs and backend microservices
- Experience with Node.js, including async patterns and frameworks like Express.js
- Strong AWS experience or comparable cloud platform knowledge
- Solid grounding in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
