Senior Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support backend and microservice development, the full-time remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and distributed systems using Java and Node.js in a cloud-native environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and Node.js
- Build and support containerized microservices deployed on AWS, including Kubernetes/EKS environments
- Troubleshoot complex backend and distributed-system issues, performing root-cause analysis and driving resolutions
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Framework/Spring Boot
- Experience with Node.js, including async patterns and frameworks like Express.js
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and containerized applications
- Strong grounding in computer science fundamentals, including data structures and distributed systems
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
