Senior Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
As a full-time Senior Backend Software Engineer on the Data Layer team, the candidate will design, build, and maintain backend services for data storage and querying, ensuring performance and scalability in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and maintain backend services for the data layer, focusing on relational databases and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
- Own the end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives, collaborating with product management and cross-functional teams
- Enhance the processing, retention, and exposure of process data to meet customer needs
Required qualifications:
- At least 7 years of experience as a backend engineer with a focus on production data stores
- Deep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or MSSQL) and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
- Proven experience leading medium-to-large engineering initiatives from design to delivery
- Ability to investigate slow queries and troubleshoot data-related production issues
- Strong collaboration skills in a remote-first environment
