Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the loan origination and reporting systems, the remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will build and scale data platforms and services, ensuring real-time processing and accurate reporting while leading a team through complex problem-solving and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals, guiding the engineering team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle, articulating technical constraints and making informed decisions
• Proactively identify and advocate for solutions to project, process, technology, or business issues, while fostering a culture of quality and ownership within the team

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems using languages like Python or Kotlin
• Proven track record with highly available distributed systems utilizing technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Expertise in designing and operating scalable backend data pipelines and batch processing systems using frameworks like Spark or Airflow
• Experience in defining technical plans for significant feature deliveries with a focus on elegant and extensible design
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
