Senior BI Data Architect

Job Summary

Leading the technical evolution of a data platform, the full-time Senior BI Data Architect will design and implement a Databricks Lakehouse, migrate legacy SQL into optimized pipelines, and build a semantic layer for self-service analytics in a remote work environment for a fixed-term contract of 6-8 months.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the Unity Catalog structure to create a governed data environment serving as a Single Source of Truth
• Lead the migration of complex business logic from legacy systems into a unified Databricks Lakehouse
• Architect internal transformation frameworks using open-source tooling to build scalable data pipelines

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in Data Engineering or Data Architecture with hands-on experience in the Databricks ecosystem
• Expert-level SQL and distributed computing skills, with experience in query optimization and data platform migration
• Proven experience in building data transformation workflows using Delta Live Tables or custom Python/SQL Spark pipelines
• Strong command of dimensional modeling and hands-on Unity Catalog experience
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows (Git / GitHub Actions or similar)
