Senior BI Data Architect

Job Summary

Leading the technical evolution of a data platform, the full-time Senior BI Data Architect will design and implement a Databricks Lakehouse, migrate legacy SQL into governed pipelines, and optimize performance while working remotely on a fixed-term contract for 8 months.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a governed data environment using Unity Catalog to serve as a Single Source of Truth
• Lead the migration of complex business logic from legacy systems into a unified Databricks Lakehouse
• Architect internal transformation frameworks using open-source tooling to build scalable data pipelines

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in Data Engineering or Data Architecture with hands-on experience in the Databricks ecosystem
• Expert-level SQL and distributed computing skills, including query optimization and data platform migration
• Proven experience in building data transformation workflows using Delta Live Tables or custom Python/SQL Spark pipelines
• Strong command of dimensional modeling and experience with Unity Catalog for permissions management and data lineage
• Hands-on experience with modern BI semantic layers and CI/CD pipelines for data model deployment
