Senior BI Data Architect

Job Summary

Leading the technical evolution of a data platform, the full-time Senior BI Data Architect will design and implement a Databricks Lakehouse, migrate complex legacy SQL, and build a semantic layer for self-service analytics in a contract role.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the Unity Catalog structure to create a governed data environment serving as a Single Source of Truth
• Lead the migration of complex business logic from legacy systems into a unified Databricks Lakehouse
• Architect internal transformation frameworks using open-source tools to build scalable data pipelines

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in Data Engineering or Data Architecture with hands-on experience in the Databricks ecosystem
• Expert-level SQL and distributed computing skills for diagnosing and optimizing query performance
• Demonstrated experience in query optimization and data platform migration, particularly to Lakehouse architecture
• Proven experience building data transformation workflows using Delta Live Tables or custom Python/SQL Spark pipelines
• Strong command of dimensional modeling and hands-on experience with Unity Catalog and permissions management
