Job Summary

To support innovative bioinformatics capabilities, the full-time Senior Bioinformatician, California Licensed, will explore and prototype new genetic data applications while collaborating with Product and Engineering teams in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of exploratory projects to test new bioinformatics capabilities for AI products
• Develop scientific hypotheses connecting user needs to genetic premises and computational approaches
• Create hands-on prototypes utilizing genomic data, scientific literature, and AI tools to validate new capabilities

Required qualifications

• Deep professional expertise in bioinformatics, computational genomics, or statistical genetics
• Experience with modern AI tools and the ability to prototype scientific work using computational pipelines
• Strong understanding of validation processes, guardrails, and failure handling in AI systems
• Ability to design reproducible experiments with clear success criteria and uncertainty boundaries
• Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor in a fast-paced, remote environment
