Senior Bioinformatics Engineer

Job Summary

To develop cutting-edge genomic analysis tools and infrastructure, the full-time Senior Bioinformatics Engineer will work remotely, focusing on building scalable data processing pipelines and optimizing performance for clinical-grade genome data.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable pipelines for processing and analyzing whole genome data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate scientific findings into consumer-friendly genetic insights
• Develop production-quality services and tools using Python, C#, SQL, and AWS technologies

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with genomic datasets and file formats such as VCF, BAM, and FASTQ
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and C#, with a proven track record in writing maintainable code
• Experience designing and implementing bioinformatics pipelines in production environments
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
